W.A. Hammond Drierite® gas drying units dry both air and gases saturated with moisture to very low dew point levels. These gas drying units are filled with approximately 567g of Drierite® 8-mesh indicating desiccant. Indicating desiccant can be easily regenerated by heating the desiccant on a tray at at 210 to 220°C for 1 hour in a single layer. Once exhausted, the same desiccant can easily be replaced with a fresh batch of indicating desiccant. Use in virtually any air or gas application which includes sample prep, blanketing, protection of lab instruments & equipment, gas purging, vacuum release, reaction mixtures or dry air venting.
The DRIERITE® 27068 Gas Purifier is specially designed for gas chromatography and other applications requiring dry, pure gas. It will dry, purify, and filter gases used for chromatography and spectrometry. The purifier is filled with Indicating DRIERITE and 5A Molecular Sieves for the removal of moisture, impurities, and particulates from gas lines. It is easy to attach using the compression type tube fittings common to most laboratory instruments. Half of the gas purifier is filled with 5A Molecular Sieve material which removes impurities which have an effective molecular diameter of less than 5 angstroms. The other half of the gas purifier is filled with 4-mesh DRIERITE® indicating desiccant which dries gases to a dryness level of 0.005mg/L. Indicating dessicant changes from blue to pink upon exhaustion. Plastic-coated mounting clips may be purchased separately - See Item #: DRI-2680
The DRIERITE® 27070 Gas Purifier is specially designed for gas chromatography and other applications requiring dry, pure gas. This gas purifier is filled with 500cc of 4-mesh DRIERITE® indicating desiccant for applications that require only drying and filtering. Indicating dessicant changes from blue to pink upon exhaustion. Plastic-coated mounting clips may be purchased separately - See Item #: DRI-26809 to purchase mounting clips. Gas drying unit is also "re-fillable" with indicating dessicant.
Applications: For use in gas chromatography to prevent ghost peaks and to improve baselines. The gas purifier should be used for carrier gases and for flame lonization detector air and hydrogen gases. The gas purifier may also be used to remove moisture and impurities from gases when purging spectrophotometer compartments, etc.
